RideGo app privacy

RideGo customer app privacy policy.

What the RideGo customer app for Android collects, why it is collected, who receives it, how long it is kept, and the choices you have, including how to delete your account.

Last updated 26 October 2026 · App: RideGo · Android package: com.ridgo.customer

In short

The main points
  • You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS.
  • The app uses your precise location while it is open, to set your pickup point, find you a driver and show your trip. It does not ask for location access while it is closed or in the background.
  • Your driver sees your name, phone number, pickup, drop-off and live location during your ride.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay.
  • The app contains no advertising software.
  • You can delete your account in the app. Some records are not erased automatically; section 7 explains which.

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to the RideGo customer app for Android (package name com.ridgo.customer), which is free to download and is operated by RideGo Enterprises (also trading as RideGo Services), a sole proprietorship of Kanna Rajasekhar (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through the details in section 11.

It does not cover the RideGo Captain driver app, or this website. For the website, see the website privacy notice.

Some of what is described below depends on the features available to your account, such as rentals or package delivery. We say so where that is the case.

2. Information we collect

Some of this you give us directly. Some the app collects from your phone while you use it.

InformationWhat we collectWhy
Account and profile Mobile phone number (used to sign in with a one-time code), name, email address, gender and date of birth. Optionally a profile photo and a referral code. Creating and securing your account, identifying you to your driver, and checking the minimum age.
Location Precise (GPS-based) and approximate location from your phone, only while the app is open and you have allowed location access. While a driver is assigned to your ride, the app sends your location to our servers each time your phone reports a new position. We keep the latest position on the ride record. Setting your pickup point, matching you with a driver, letting your driver find you, and tracking the trip.
Places Pickup and drop-off places you search for or choose on the map, and places you save, such as Home or Work. Booking rides and making repeat bookings quicker.
Rides and cancellations For each booking: pickup and drop-off addresses and coordinates, vehicle type, scheduled time, fare, any coupon used, ride status and times, who cancelled and the reason if one was given, your rating and feedback, and receipts. Your ride history is shown to you in the app. Running the ride, working out the fare, receipts, support, and handling safety reports and disputes.
Other people If you book for someone else, that passenger’s name and phone number. If you use package delivery, the receiver’s name and phone number and the package size. Any emergency contacts you add: name, phone number and relationship. Letting the driver reach the passenger or receiver, and safety features. Please enter only the details of people who know you are doing so.
Payments and wallet Payment status, amounts and Razorpay references, your wallet balance and transactions, rewards and referral credits, and saved payment methods (for example a UPI ID and a label). Card, UPI or bank details you type into the Razorpay payment screen are handled by Razorpay. Taking payment, refunds, wallet top-ups and receipts.
Rental verification If you book a rental vehicle: your driving licence number and expiry date, a PAN or Aadhaar number, and photos of those documents. Document numbers are encrypted before they are stored, and a masked version is used for display. Checking that you are eligible to rent a vehicle.
Safety reports If you press SOS or file a safety report: the ride it relates to, the category, any description or location you include, and the time. Letting our safety team follow up on the report.
Messages and support Chat messages with your driver during a ride, and support requests including any screenshots or photos you attach. Helping you during a ride, resolving issues, and answering your questions.
Photos you choose Only photos you pick from your gallery or take yourself, for a profile photo, a support attachment or a rental document. The app does not browse your photos. The feature you used them for.
Voice search If you tap the microphone when searching for a destination and allow microphone access, Android’s built-in speech recognition turns your speech into text. The app receives the text. It does not record or store audio. Searching for a destination by voice. The audio is handled by your phone’s speech recognition service under its own terms.
Device and diagnostics A random identifier the app creates when it is first installed, your device platform, the app version, your push-notification token, and crash and performance reports (error details, device model, operating-system version and app version). Like any app that talks to servers, our systems and providers also receive your IP address. Keeping your session secure, sending notifications, and finding and fixing faults.
Stored on your phone Your sign-in session is kept in secure storage backed by the Android Keychain. A few app settings, such as whether you have answered the location prompt, are kept in the app’s local storage. Keeping you signed in and remembering your choices.

3. How we use information

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep your session secure.
  • To book, match, track and complete rides, rentals and deliveries, and to work out fares.
  • To take payments, manage your wallet, and issue refunds and receipts.
  • To let your driver reach and find you during a ride.
  • To send notifications about your rides, wallet and safety alerts, and announcements from RideGo.
  • To provide safety features, such as SOS, safety reports and emergency contacts.
  • To answer support requests and handle disputes.
  • To detect fraud and misuse, and to keep the service secure.
  • To find and fix errors and measure how well the app performs.

The app contains no advertising or ad-tracking software.

4. Who receives your information

Your driver

Once a driver is assigned to your ride, the driver sees your name and phone number, your pickup and drop-off, your live location, and any chat messages. If you book for someone else, the driver may also see that passenger’s name and phone number. If you share a ride with other riders, they do not see your name or phone number.

RideGo staff

Authorised RideGo staff can view account, ride, payment, support, chat, safety and rental verification records through our admin tools, so that they can support riders, review safety reports and verify rentals.

Service providers

We use the following providers to run the app. They receive only what is needed for the purpose shown.

ProviderWhat it receivesPurpose
Google (Maps, Places, Directions and Geocoding) Map requests, your search text, and coordinates or addresses sent to look up places, routes and addresses. Maps, place search, routes and address lookup.
Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) Your device’s push-notification token and the notification content. Delivering notifications.
Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firestore database and Cloud Storage) The information described in section 2 that we store, and the photos you upload. Hosting the RideGo service and its data.
Razorpay Payment amount, payment references, an internal customer reference, and the payment details you enter on its payment screen. Processing payments and refunds.
SMS delivery provider Your mobile number and the one-time code. Sending your sign-in code.
Sentry Crash reports and performance data from the app. Finding and fixing faults.

Where the law requires

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

5. Permissions the app asks for

Each permission is requested on your phone, and you can change it at any time in Android settings. Declining a permission may stop the related feature from working.

PermissionWhat it is used for
Precise and approximate locationSetting your pickup point, matching you with a driver and tracking your trip. Used only while the app is open. The app does not request background location access.
NotificationsRide updates, wallet and safety alerts, and announcements from RideGo.
CameraTaking a photo to attach to a support request, when you choose to.
MicrophoneVoice search for a destination, when you tap the microphone.
Internet and network stateCommunicating with our servers and with the providers in section 4.

Photos for your profile, support requests and rental documents are chosen through Android’s picker, so the app does not need broad access to your photos.

The app’s listing may also show permissions such as biometric authentication, NFC, basic phone state, install referrer, vibration, wake lock, foreground service and receive-boot-completed. These are added automatically by software libraries the app includes, for example for secure storage, payments and notifications. RideGo’s own features do not use them.

To fill in a one-time code, the app can use Google’s SMS User Consent prompt. Android then asks whether you want to share that one message with the app. The app does not have permission to read your text messages.

6. How long we keep information

  • Sign-in codes and expired sessions. Our server includes a scheduled clean-up job that removes expired sign-in codes and expired sessions.
  • Everything else. We have not set a fixed retention period for account details, ride and cancellation history, payment and wallet records, rental verification records, chat, support requests and safety reports. They are kept while your account is active and, after you delete your account, as described in section 7.

7. Your choices, your rights and deleting your account

Choices in the app

  • Edit your name, email, gender, date of birth and profile photo in your profile.
  • Add, change or remove saved places and emergency contacts.
  • Turn ride-update notifications on or off in the app’s notification settings.
  • Allow or withdraw location, camera, microphone and notification access in Android settings. Turning off notifications for the app there stops all of its notifications.

Access, correction and erasure

You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, to correct it, or to erase it. Email support@ridego.app from your registered account details and tell us what you need. We will review your request and tell you what we can do and what we must keep.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings, choose Delete Account, then confirm. You can also use the account deletion page if you no longer have the app.

What the in-app deletion does. It marks your account as deleted, signs you out of every device, and removes the phone number, email address and push-notification token from your account. It also removes any pending sign-in codes.

What it does not erase automatically. The in-app deletion does not itself erase your remaining profile details (name, date of birth, gender and profile photo), saved places, emergency contacts, saved payment methods, or your ride, payment, wallet, rental verification, chat, support and safety records. If you want any of these erased, email us as described above and we will review the request.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.

8. How we protect information

  • The release app blocks unencrypted (HTTP) connections, so data is sent to our servers over HTTPS.
  • Your sign-in session is kept in secure storage backed by the Android Keychain.
  • You sign in with a one-time code, and sessions can be ended, including when an account is deleted.
  • Rental document numbers are encrypted before they are stored.
  • Staff access is through admin tools that require a staff sign-in.

No system can be made perfectly secure. If you think your account has been misused, contact us using the details in section 11.

9. Children

The RideGo customer app is meant for people aged 18 and over. When you sign up, the app asks for your date of birth and does not accept one that would make you under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will review it.

10. Where information is processed

Our server runs on Google Cloud in the Mumbai region. The other providers in section 4 run their own systems, and some of them may process information outside India.

11. Changes and how to contact us

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
